So it’s over for another year… all the planning, scheduling, travel booking, post-it noting and signing that go into attending a book festival paid off – and that’s not even mentioning the fantastic events themselves! Team PR dragged themselves back to their hotels late last night, tired but happy in the knowledge that it’s been another brilliantly successful year at the festival.
Throughout August our authors have been dazzling Edinburgh audiences at the International Book Festival, including *deep breath* Barry Hutchison, Darren Shan, Garth Nix, Louise Rennison, Michael Morpurgo and Helen Dunmore. We finally rounded things off this weekend with Department 19 author Will Hill, Splat the Cat author and illustrator Rob Scotton and funny man himself David Walliams.
Rob entertained his audience of mini people with readings and live drawings of Splat the Cat, with the audience drawing along to form a cat army!
Very excitingly it was Will’s first appearance at the Edinburgh festival – he not only joined up with author KJ Wignall to discuss their fascination with vampires, but then spoke to a schools audience all about Dracula, as well as meeting some super fans along the way!
David Walliams had a whistle-stop one day visit to the city and wowed his audience with a reading from Gangsta Granny and new book Ratburger, then was faced with 500 arms waving in the air, desperate to ask a question!
See all the photos from the final weekend below – until next year Edinburgh! We’ll miss you!
If you couldn’t make it up to Edinburgh, never fear! David will be appearing at Cadogan Hall, Sloane Square in London on 13th September to PREMIERE his new book Ratburger. Get your hands on a copy FIRST, listen to David talk about his inspiration and then meet the man himself at the signing afterwards!
